My part-time job has brought me to Penang, (sadly, for a Malaysian) this is my VERY FIRST TIME setting foot on rich historic Malaysian heritage grounds that I have always disregarded.

Being in the city, filled with post-war buildings that are still used till this day, definitely gave an unalike feeling. Buildings that were mainly built by the Portuguese… I think. Don’t quote me on this; history isn’t my cup of tea.
Though I had to fly back the day itself, I got to taste a little bit of Penang (literally too). Me and my co-mate had purposely went to the dodgiest coffee shop there was just to experience the original “kopitiam” :)
And to a big surprise, it was different… nothing, nothing like KL.
The plain ‘chee chong fun’ aka rice noodle roll :)
tasted like nothing that I’ve ever had!
The sauce, omg the sauce… had 3 different sensations the moment my taste buds got a hold of it. It was first of all unexplainable, had a very strong aroma, tasted familiar and yet totally different.
Amazing for a mere simple Chinese dish.
Plus, they had super cool OLD toilets!
it's been the longest time since i've seen this...
... and somehow it fascinates me :)
